Amazing! Hello from Italy
@giubarabino23 thankyou, I also find Italian bells interesting as they have full circle ring and call changes, although not as advanced as English change ringing the fact is it is a cultural phenomena which only happens in Italy.
The Fettlers Train Group are keen to come for a visit and a Pizza ~ Supreme of course!
It could be arranged plus a visit to Brian's outdoor battery powered( HO x2) layout ie O gauge
What a gorgeous thing
Hello Steve, can you please read the Quran or listen to it in English and become Muslim your old you seem kind and I just came to check on you after you commented on Liam’s reaction to the athan. I SERIOUSLY WOULD LOOK TO MEET YOU IF NOT IN THIS LIFE IN HEAVEN BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO ARE SINCERE WITH THERE SELF AND PEOPLE AND SOUL THE PROPHET PBUH WOULD BE VERY HAPPY . From your brother Abdullah 🤍
Wow what a beautiful and quiet loco Steve
Thanks, I'm pleased with it.
Good looking layout. Dead Rail running???? Does this layout use the Lazarus Control System? Lol!
I have no idea how it all works but Brian is very high tech and im low tech
Here in 2024 and just read the caption. Has the electric mechanism been fixed yet?
I don't believe it has but it has been rung manually a few times and there is a video on youtube showing it being rung, although not one of my videos. I think it's about justifying the cost to replace the motor.
@@Steven_Rowe Very nice to hear that it has been rung manually! Must take a lot of strength (I am assuming multiple people) to get it swinging. Hopefully everything is fixed soon so it can be heard more often, glorious bell to say the least!
@@annawx_ two people can ring it. Great )eter of Yorkminster is 10 tons and is easily rung by one person
How do you get into the tower from the entrance of the cathedral
He used to get in from the tower where the 12 are and walk over to the other tower but now you get in via a security entrance and walk along high above the nave of the Cathedral.
Was it dark up there
No other at all.
Hi Steve was this for wiring electro frogs and if so does same apply to inslafrogs or not many thanks for you're very informative video
Hello Steve, when are you going to post another video on your 0 gauge modelling? Thanks.
A very good question, I need to complete my A4
@@Steven_Rowe Thank you for your reply. Hope everything is alright for yourself and family.
@@tulyar1043 I just get so tired and it really drains my enthusiasm.
@@Steven_Rowe Sorry to hear that. Have you had a check up by your GP? Maybe if you started to, say, checking the rolling stock on your layout and do any repairs, tweaking needed this might help bring your mojo back.
@tulyar1043 i had a bone marrow transplant 26 years ago, the chemo really changes you, it's like it aged you 10 years but also damages other parts of you, in my case lungs. I need to get back into the A4, even a few bits a day will help.
Looks like Billy Clarke on the treble.
It is Billy Clarke, do you know Billy? He lived in Sydney but now resides in the UK. Billy is a good ringer and a it of a heavy bell man too. A very humble and decent man if ever there was one. I know who used in ring at Clerkenwell a lot. One of my favourite 8s in London G&J of course.
@@Steven_Rowe I've rung with Billy a few times.
@@RingerThomas I always enjoyed ringing with Billy, the other thing I love about Billy is he is not a member of the ringing elite who look down upon lesser ringers such as myself. One thing I have never been is a fantastic ringer I just like lovely bells and well struck ringing. The Perrins family here in Aus are cracking ringers
@Steven_Rowe Do you know James White? He is in charge of Imperial College, Windsor Castle, and St Margarets Westminster. Great ringer and he also called my first peal.
@@RingerThomas I know the name. I never rung at Windsor but have been up the tower with my dad in the 1960s as dad was a bell hanger for Whitechapel. When it comes to great ringers I know Brian Bladon, I have know him all my life , I can remember sitting on his shoulders watching the Lord Mayor show in 1956. Brian has rung in the vicinity of 5000 peals.
Take sort of algorithms, how much does this weighs in USA tons?
Algorithms has nothing to do with anything. The bell weighs 16ton 14cwt 2 quarters and 19lbs So in pounds that is 37483lbs. Metric would be 17002.003KG
@Steven_Rowe What thing does hit a 37,500 lb bell?
@@EricLeiserArtist00 you can see it, it's called a clapper.
Blaahzjsbrqdksseknfaahha!
Hope you're well Steve, looks like you're having fun!
I'm doing well. Just been to Tasmania for 3 weeks Now to finish my A4
Pretty cool
Hello Steve, have you finished your B1?
@tulyar1043 Yes, I'm surprised you didn't watch my video. It's in the play list which I have linked below ruclips.net/p/PLAptIJZrV7qZ5KWIMNSSQy7Lf9sfo5jvp&si=kvfCgIYB23C2nPel
Interesting video.Thanks for sharing.
Purpose built tools made the last
Definitely not from China.
When were the ting tang chime bells cast?
The hour bell was cast in 1717, the quarter or Ting tang as you call them were cast in 1707 and Great Paul in 1881
Just use normal PVA wood/craft glue to stick the glazing. Quick, simple and dries completely clear. 😊
One small that needs adding Steve, a safety chain to the smoke box door to stop it opening too wide and fouling or striking something. I saw this at Minehead forty years ago, the fireman took the chain off the door to shovel ash out, the smokebox door swung right out, as this happened the driver moved the loco forward, the door struck the front of the loco shed and bent the hinges very badly. The engine was out of service for nearly a week and this caused trains to be cancelled.
What a nice model! Where did you get it from?
It is a DJH loco kit
@@Steven_Rowe Oh, well awesome job mate!
@samuelsmith9586 thanks, I try hard and the next model will be better.
Lovely model and it runs very well
Thanks
No problem
Runs beautifully. Just what "O" gauge is all about . . . Excellent.
It does run well and its BIG
Wheeeey!!! Lovely job Steve well done!
Fantastic work Steve you must be really proud of the final outcome. All the best. Eric
The lining isn't as good as I wanted it to be, it's a fiddly job that requires good eyes as steady hand and lots of patience , but overall it looks very good and it runs well.
Cracking job Steve
Brilliant
Thank Rob. The A4 next
A great looking loco, Steve.. did you use a paint pen to apply the gold around the cab windows? Or is it plain brass? I'm just starting to line out my Standard 5
It's a brass spectacle plate surrounds

They're superb. Great builds!
I try hard.
Hi Steve. Great vlog buddy. Do like the O gauge, need a lot of space to use them though. You have some great looking locos there. I know we are all different, but I'm going with you don't weather it looks a lot better like that. Thanks for showing us Steve. Pete.
The N2 needs the quad arts. I'm slowly trying to build all I have
Great Video Steve, The N2 has always been my favorite loco type, but I have to ask who's kit it was built from?
The N2. Is a Warren Sheppard kit
Superb Steve. 👍 Watching all thre build was worth anybodies time.
Thanks, I would like to think my down to earth warts and all modelling helps, im no expert except at making mistakes.
Is this Bwians place Steve?
Exactly BER WIAN. Scwewy Bwian, wasn't the messiah, he was just a naughty boy.
Steve looks great ,missed you on the Guild forum .I take it you have heard the DJH new ?
No I have heard the DJH news but no doubt they are giving up the model train business, failing interests and rising costs.
Looking good Steve, all your practice has paid off.
Fantastico !
Thanks Dale, still a bit of work to do, but I'm almost done
Looks extremely nice well done Steve your hard work has certainly paid off
Looking really good Steve, you should be very proud of your achievements, All the best,
Thank Eric, I do my best.
Cracking job, Steve. Really stunning loco.
Thanks, I covered a lot of sins
Such a Beautiful gloss finish you got! You really have learned quickly how to get such a good sheen. Its almost a shame that you'll have to dull it down, but that's why I model pre-war, where the good sheds would use polishing compound, or Brasso and brick dust if necessary, to keep that shine. That B1 will stand for decades as a testament to your triumph Steve, and it will have been well deserved.
Nice looking loco👍
Spot on mate!
Happy now? I gave you a like 😂
In over the moon . Thanks
Can't wait to see it done, Steve.. it's going to be a stunning loco!
I can't wait either
Glad to see you are feeling a bit better and what a lovely paint finish, that satin varnish has really transformed the whole appearance.
I'm glad the tender is finished, now onto the loco which is almost finished, and then full speed ahead on the A4
@@Steven_Rowe Choo choo
You do good work, Steve. And you're productive. I've got kits I've been playing at for years and not finished.
Thanks, yes I know I'm not even a novice when it comes to kit collections and having a lot on the go I'm trying to focus on one thing only
Hi Steve, Great job on the loco, after all the trials and tribulations on the gloss paint, it was in the end the clear coat that gave you that gloss finish. But as you rightfully said YOU built it and painted it and not many people have the right to say that, keep up the good work. All the best. Eric
I bought another spray can of the same make , only satin, I have now sprayed the tender, and it looks so much better, I'm now working on the loco.
Cracking job, Steve
It's been so difficult, I realise I'm not as good as I want to be.
